Our Founder and Lead Practitioner, Advanced Practitioner Nancy Raffa, trained in Herbology for 5 years at the Kerala Ayurveda Academy, USA, and immersed herself in the subject’s complexities. Her education extends beyond the medicinal use of herbs to a comprehensive understanding of their bioenergetics and interactions. This includes studying the herbs’ qualities (Gunas), taste (Rasa), potency (Virya), post-digestive effects (Vipaka), unique qualities (Prabhava), and effects on the Doshas. She understands the medicinal purpose of each element of the plants used and the plants’ growth conditions, harvesting protocols, preparation methods, dosage, administration timing, shelf life, and duration.
